The BEST Face Make-Up – All hail to Chanel

I have incredibly difficult skin, its very dry and large pores around my nose, so finding the best foundation has been a laborious task.  Since my amazing win I have scoured the make-up counters and aisles to find the best face make-up.

Base: LE BLANC DE CHANEL SHEER ILLUMINATING BASE

Foundation: VITALUMIÈRE SATIN SMOOTHING FLUID MAKEUP SPF 15

Powder:  POUDRE UNIVERSELLE COMPACTE NATURAL FINISH PRESSED POWDER

Before I used these products, I was always against using designer make-up, thinking I was paying more for the name, rather than any special, magical, formula that these pricetags seem to make you believe.

Nearly at the point of thinking I will never find the ‘perfect’ foundation, I decided to walk up to the Chanel counter in boots and told the counter girl my woes.  She suggested I use the illuminating base as it will close up my pours, balance out any redness in areas and keep my foundation and other facial make-up on for longer.  The satin smoothing foundation as it does what it says on the tin and leaves your skin with a soft and satin feel.  Lastly the pressed powder for a flawless finish.

2 months of using this products (the longest I have ever used a foundation brand) I am over the moon. I have put this make-up on friends and they have gone out to buy it.  It doesn’t come cheap though, this lot will set you back close to a £100, but it is worth every single penny

How I apply – firstly I apply the base with the spatula provided and place some on my forehead, both cheeks, nose and chin. With my fingers I then rub into the skin and allow to dry.  Then with the foundation, I also use my fingers to blend into my skin and rub down my neck  (nothing worst than a foundation line around your chin).  If you have quite dry skin like me, avoid putting the powder on your forehead as no matter what I do, powder makes it dry in this area.

I have favouritism towards boots now 😉 so you can buy at boots.com

CHANEL IS BY FAR THE BEST MAKE UP RANGE ON THE MARKET, YES ITS PRICEY BUT IT DOES EXACTLY AS IT STATES, I THINK ITS GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY AND THE RANGES ARE EXCELLENT AND THE FACE CREAMS ARE AMAZING, MY FAV PERFUME IS ALSO A CHANEL SCENT — ALLURE

I have never tried chanel make up although I love the perfumes. I suffer from large pores as well and am always looking for something to lessen this. Since reading this I might just go into one of the big stores and see if they are doing any samples or makeovers bfore I decide on buying as it is pricey if it isn’t going to work for you.

They should do samples. Not sure if they will cover your whole face (she just did around my chin) but its worth asking I am sure x

I love Chanel’s beauty line. The base sounds good, but I’ll try to find a cheaper alternative.

I love makeup so much and I have pores too. I have been using MUFE products and I must say they really do work!..I’ve wanted to try Chanel but they are a little more expensive than MUFE, so I never bought the line but based on your review I’m going to try the foundation. I love a flawless, luminous finish!

Chanel’s about the only brand of foundation I haven’t tried – must get around to trying after reading your review.
