Last weekend unfortunately I couldn’t attend a photo shoot organised by Rouge PR. The bloggers invited had to style a look based around the theme ‘21st Century pin-up‘. I do love a retro or vintage inspired look, so I did get thinking how I would have interpreted it.
We took these photos in one of my favorite little spots to go with Eva. It is in Leatherhead, Surrey near where I live and is home to a beautiful little swan family. There is never anyone here, so is a perfect place to take outfit photos.
All the photos of me are taken by my mother (the rest by me with the 50mm f1.8 lens). In fact I really need to praise my mother on her increasingly wonderful photo taking skills. When I first asked her to take photos for me just over a year ago for Memoir Mode, she didn’t even know where the shutter release button was.
How to wear floral jeans – maybe start by taking the lens cap out of your back pocket!

In the past I have always walked into Primark and walked straight back out again and to be honest I still cannot stomach the majority of it. Not because I think I am too good for it, I like a bargain like the next person, but because the quality of the fabric can be really shocking. I have bought from Primark in the past, worn it washed it and thrown it away. That is wasteful in my eyes. I would rather pay a little more for something, have less things and keep that item a lot longer.
Just like this t-shirt I am wearing from River Island. I think it is actually the oldest (not including vintage) item I have in my wardrobe and has never lost its colour or shape and doesn’t feel like shit to wear.
Saying that, I have been really impressed with my last couple of trips into Primark. I purchased a pair of the most comfortable leather sandals, these glitter sandals that I posted on instagram and of course the floral jeans I am wearing above. I am so impressed with them, even the bloke sighed and asked how much I had spent this time when I showed them to him! They are ankle grazers but I turned them up slightly as it felt more ‘pin-up‘ and I am not sure if it is just me, but I think your legs look longer if skinnies are half way up your calf?
On the topic of low priced clothing items, Eva is wearing a top and leggings from the F&F Tesco range. Luke actually picked this and we spotted a few sweet items for her when we were grocery shopping. Unfortunately I can’t find these items on the website to link to, but they should be in store, it wasn’t long ago.
I am absolutely crazy over these sparkly glitter wedges from Stylist Pick. A lot of people weren’t sure about them who I showed them too, but I think they are so pretty and super comfy. They are also available in chocolate and blue and recently added to the Sale priced down from £119.85 to £59.
