Supermodel Alek Wek opened the show in a gold number to a chorus of applause. DAS collection designed by Emirati sisters Reem and Hind Beljafla, set out to design the ‘must have black abaya’ They then moved on to creating the cut in different fabrics and colours. Their mission now is to take a global stage and appeal to an international audience directed to woman who want to dress moderately and elegantly – Elegant and beautiful it was.
Middle Eastern influences were combined with Indian style – East meets Middle East! All very vibrant and luxurious. I absolutely love the dipped hem dress in the top photo . Also the yellow maxi skirt with the embroidered top and the wrap belt. It would fit perfectly in this seasons ‘oriental opulence trend’. I might have to style a similar look for Autumn/winter.
Alek Wek closed the show with a bold red capped dress draped in pearls. She was greeted again to a round of applause and cheers in which she beamed from ear to ear and performed a double twirl at the end of the runway.
