For the sixth year on the trot, Tommy Hilfiger is partnering with Breast Health International to raise awareness and funds for women who are fighting breast cancer. By creating a limited-edition handbag.
This year, Tommy Hilfiger partnered with Hollywood actress, screenwriter, and producer Drew Barrymore to photograph this year’s BHI ambassador, the Anglo-French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg. “The opportunity to play a part in supporting such an admirable cause means a great deal to me,” said Gainsbourg.
In the accompanying video she reads a poem, written especially for this initiative, that starts with the moving words: “Everyone needs help at some point…”
Check out this beautiful video. I really want her speaking voice!
This years limited-edition handbag is a navy leather tote with white accents and red handles. Inspired by the Tommy Hilfiger brand‟s classic American cool heritage.
The limited edition oversize tote will retail at £255, £100 of which will go directly to the fund for living, a global initiative which provides help in providing treatment to women living with breast cancer. Tommy Hilfiger brings charity and fashion together – and as Gainsbourg suggests “Buying the bag is an easy way of doing something helpful!”.
The beautifully heavily pregnant and just as adorable as ever Drew Barrymore (I love drew!) photographed the campaign. “It‟s an honor to partner with Tommy Hilfiger and Charlotte Gainsbourg to raise awareness for the wonderful work Breast Health International does,” said Drew.
What I personally love about the bag is it is not pink! What I love more is that Tommy Hilfiger are donating so much of the profits towards to the cause! I have had an abundance of breast cancer awareness press releases sent to my inbox and disturbingly quite a few do not seem to be donating any of the profit. They are using the cause to sell products and stating “to raise awareness”. Very naughty!
Of course with such an attractive bag and the cause behind it has been snapped up! Not to fear they have more on their way so keep an eye on the website if you would like one
