On day 3 of London Fashion Week I woke up at an ungodly hour (but worth it) to cover backstage at Margaret Howell SS14 with Moroccanoil, who are LFW hair product suppliers. This was actually my second time ever covering backstage. My first being only the day before for PPQ SS14. It was in and out with PPQ, things were pretty hectic back there lots of people and limited space. I had more time and freedom with Margaret Howell to get the shots I wanted. Then it was a toss up between staying backstage for the show or getting up front.
I was happy to see Kristabel above covering backstage with me. I think she was actually one of the very first bloggers I met in real life when I started blogging.
The whole energy backstage was very calm and organised. People were smiling and enjoying the breakfast provided. I even spotted chocolate brownies. Models seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to cameras.- always photo ready. Also you don’t realise how tall these girls are until you are standing underneath a few of them.
The hair and make-up room smelt gorgeous with the Moroccanoil being used. The models hair was styled in a low knot and shorter haired models had slicked back locks.
So as I said previously I was having a struggle deciding whether to go up front for the show or stay behind. In the end I sat in the photographer pit and decided to stay put. Here are my favourite looks:
Simplicity is the key with Margaret Howell in turn making the collection very wearable and covetable (especially by me!). I could literally see myself wearing the entire collection. Very flattering to all body shapes. I love the whole girl meets boy styles with loose fitting shapes, mainly with the shirts and jackets. There was also very feminine elements – I am craving the tight fitting bodice with the pastel pink midi-skirt above.
The ever so popular dungaree trend for SS13 has made another round for Margaret Howell SS14. This time oversized with a longer length.
Easy breezy chic summer style at its best! What do you think? Thanks to Moroccanoil for inviting me to join them backstage.
