After an afternoon of laughing Yoga (more on that in a later post). I cheerfully made my way to the Wallis showroom on Oxford Street. Wallis are holding small group appointments over the coming months; so press and bloggers can talk to the W collection design team.
I would have walked straight past Wallis on the highstreet a couple of years ago. Then after attending Arcadia press days, I was noticing pieces on the Wallis rails that I loved. I am not sure if that is because they have stepped up their game. Or I am acquiring a more mature sense of style as I approach 30 (1 year and 7 months to go eeeek). My beloved beige cocoon coat that I lived in last winter is from Wallis. I have every intention of bringing it out this winter too!
Although the piece that was calling out to me as soon as I walked into the showroom was the above black leather biker jacket very Autumn/Winter 2013. It was love at first sight, look how happy I am wearing it! The leather was so soft and the ribbing down the sleeves gave it a touch of edge.
Gilly and Sital from the design team were on hand to talk through the collection. They were so passionate about their creations it was hard not to be yourself. Gilly is in-charge of the dresses and separates, whereas Sital the tailoring and outerwear.
They told me how they would work together on pulling outfits together and bounce ideas off each other. They want to create a collection that is in keeping with current trends, but with a touch of maturity and sophistication that the Wallis customer loves.
Wallis were very sweet and treated a couple of guests to a manicure. The lovely Hannah and Rachel from the press team took us along to the Sanderson hotel Spa. It really is the most beautiful spa I have ever been too. We all said how bizarre it was coming up in the dark galaxy lift from the bustling reception to the serene labyrinth of white curtains and twinkling music.
So what do you think? will any pieces be added to your winter wishlist?
