Street Style and Portrait photography at Sept 13 LFW

portrait photography london

Every month I head out to the streets of the UK and look out for stylish people for Free People work. Usually in the realms of boho/grunge/tomboy/folk looks, as in keeping with the brands aesthetics. They then pick 2 looks to post on the blog for that month. I have included the 2 looks below that were picked for Sept 13.

I know I said no more LFW posts from me for the season, but looking over the street style shots I did; I really wanted to post some of the looks that weren’t used. I might not wear all of the outfits or items here, but I found the individuals interesting. Also I love faces (they are unique to each person), so always make a point of a portrait too.

Most of these girls were literally walking through Somerset House to go to the press rooms or a presentation or something else LFW related. The peacocks as they are now known really do stand out like a sore thumb and usually their outfits are too absurd for my taste. It really doesn’t bother me though like it does some people. Its all part and parcel of fashion week and they aren’t doing any harm. What does bug me is when purely personal style bloggers go to the shows and just photograph themselves sitting down in the BFC show space and barely a word of the designer.

After the whole peacock-gate articles people are super paranoid. People have said they hate having to hang around outside Somerset house, in case others think they are just there to get their photo taken. Personally I hate the experience of walking through those gates, lots eyes judging you. I tend to walk fast and put my head down. I feel happier when I get my camera out and get judging myself. What I funny is the incidents when you ask to take someones photo and they ask to take your photo.

So what do you think of the photos? any particular look you like?

Really love the first and third outfits. I guess I don’t really know too much about the peacocks and how weird everyone can get because I’ve never been to LFW, but you seem to have the perfect attitude to it all! I prefer looking at outfits that are wearable, I’m inspired by the clothing women wear on your average day.

Beautiful shots as always Kylie! I know I’d want to take your snap if you were a random who asked to take mine haha. 😉

These ladies are so beautiful. I really love their style. The look with the sweatshirt and jeans is such a great casual look I intend to recopy a lot this Fall.
