Mother Daughter Style | When in Greece

jarlo maxi dress

We were staying in a little tiny resort on the island of Syros, so we decided to go back and check out the port town we arrived in from the Mykonos ferry – Hermoupolis. It’s a non-tourist,  proper Greek working town.  I knew if I wore the usual holiday get-up, we would stick out like a sore thumb! Well… apart from being incredibly pale that is.

I don’t really sunbath anymore, it’s boring as hell and I don’t want to look like a leather boot when I reach 40. I used to lay in the sun day in and day out on holiday…hate to think of the sun damage I have already caused. Any small tan I get now  is from walking around.

I am wearing
Black Maxi dress – Jarlo*
Red Aviator Sunglasses – Zero UV*
Flatform sliders – New Look
Bag – Old from Topshop

Eva is wearing
Dress – No Added Sugar*
Sandals – Shop in South Africa
Sunglasses – Next (boys)

I wore a black maxi dress from old favourite Jarlo. They always do the best maxis, I have a extensive collection of them now. It is strapless so no slapper strap marks walking around in the hot sun. The description of the dress, I just noticed now says ‘perfect for exploring a new town’. Great minds! The lace panelling kept me nice and cool with the light breeze airing through. The under layer is quite short, but you feel secure with the lace on top…maybe a little too secure as you could still flash a butt cheek or two if you bend too far forward.

Eva received this adorable dress from No Added Sugar. I love love LOVE their stuff! They will be a firm girls clothes favourite of mine from now on. They are a kids luxury brand, but they do have a up to 50% off sale now online now.

*all photos taken by me, apart from the ones I am in, which were taken by my dad

Hermoupolis is completely different to Mykonos! I found Mykonos so hectic after spending 6 nights on Syros. xx
