Cheesy post with me wandering through a crop field. This gorgeous orange maxi dress was sent over by Wallis as part of the perfectly petite campaign. We now live opposite a vast crop field, so I thought the bright colour set against the green landscape would look quite good. I was hoping for a clear sky and a lovely sundown, but hey…this is the UK. Few shots in I asked my husband if this all looked a bit cheesy and try hard… little bit he replied.
Then every 2 minutes I was like – what the f was that!. With a sound by my feet that wasn’t my feet!
I picked up some wheat thinking I would look all sultry… do I look cute if I do this. Him – “ermmm”
I tried to lay down – does this look good – “cheese deluxe” he reassured.
So there we have it. Cheesy or not we had fun taking them. We even saw a little fox poke his head up to have a look what was going on. Makes a change from people stopping and asking what we are doing when we take outfit photos. It’s usually very elderly people too. Trying to explain that you take photos of yourself to put on the Internet is interesting.
I was actually really surprised that I picked such a vibrant coloured dress. Looking at my wardrobe contents, it’s all very neutral and earthy at the moment. I think maybe I scared myself off after trying the colour block trend of 2011.
I am 5’4 so maxi dress lengths are a bit hit or miss with me. Some are ok and some drag all over the floor. There seems to be a myth that petite girls can’t wear maxi dresses which is absolute rubbish. Obviously with main range maxis, a high pair of heels is a must. This maxi is a petite so little ladies can wear this with a pair of flats.
