It all started last week after I visited The Royal Childhood at Buckingham palace exhibition. On one of the hottest days the the year I weaved my way through Oxford Street to the flagship Warehouse store (number 264). I had been invited to check out the private dressing room to pick 3 items for a night out at the Rooftop film club the… Read more →
Last Friday I was invited along to a special blogger preview of the Buckingham Palace opening. This year in line with Prince George’s 1st birthday, The Royal collection was exhibiting ‘a Royal Childhood’. The display included vintage toys and clothing worn and played with by the Royal family. I thought Eva would enjoy the theme this year so I took her… Read more →
The issue I am about to speak about was something I was aware of, but not previously researched or delved into. Kerry from www.kerryjeanlister.com asked her contacts with some sort of public platform if they would share the Plan UK – because I am a girl campaign video. I decided to look more into it and it left me feeling, well….disturbed! Read more →
You may have seen posts on here and on other blogs about ‘The Apartment‘ – a blogger haven during LFW. Brands will come along to promote their products, bloggers partake in activities, have a chill out and catch up with friends. Founder Abi has now created blogger focused events throughout the year. Each event is at a different apartment located in London… Read more →
The main problem with attending press days is that they are a season ahead. They were obviously set-up so magazines and the likes could prepare in advance for features. The thing is with bloggers, we like to attend events and press days and then to post up our snaps almost straight away. Before we are wearing the next season, we… Read more →
I seem to be spending my time between home and Shoreditch lately. North-East London is becoming ‘the’ place to hold fashion based events. Last week I went to Hoxton studios – which was actually were I did one of my very first photoshoots in 2011 for Look Magazine. I won a style competition and was heavily into vintage inspired fashion. This time… Read more →
This post comes with a warning, Lots of shoe porn for you to feast your eyes on. If you are as weak willed as me (I can’t resist a bit of heel) then look away now. The Apartment invited me for an evening of fun and footwear. Steve Madden are huge in the US, they are now looking to take the… Read more →
Wednesday I went over to Shoreditch to the Cinderela B studio for festive fun and jewellery making. The plan was to make a piece for myself and one to give away. I have never made a piece of jewellery in my life so I was excited about being shown the techniques and walking away with my very own design. Read more
Just a few snaps from last night’s ASOS Xmas party at ASOS HQ. I am assuming it was for bloggers, press & stylists rather than just a blogger party. There was official Santa handing out presents, asking if we had been naughty or nice. Rails of sparkly partywear and Christmas jumpers and a couple of manicure girls. Read more
The week before last I headed over to Ink on Leicester Square for the Motel Rocks blogger Xmas party. One thing being a London based blogger (well in the countryside outside for me) you do get to sample most of London’s nightlife locations. Not that I am particularly interested in clubbing these days. I much prefer to go to a cosy pub and drink a bottle (or two) of wine with friends…
I do love these Xmas parties brands put on for bloggers though. I get to catch-up with some blogger pals. While surrounded by sparkly frocks on display and various beauty treatments available. Read more
It may only be the beginning of November, but last night I went to my very first 2013 Christmas Party. I love Christmas and the whole build up so I didn’t mind at all. I was quite happy to get into the spirit of things. The party was with boohoo.com and to celebrate their #dressmas campaign. You can win £500 worth of clobber by uploading a party look to instagram and using the #dressmas hashtag. Read more
On Halloween I partook in grown-up trick or treat with four of the Arcadia Brands (Miss Selfridge, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis & BHS) along Oxford Street. I love nothing more than a task or a challenge, so I was excited ever since I got the email invitation.
10 bloggers, a mix of men’s & women’s fashion had 3 hours to tick-off 2 of the 8 ‘tricks’ in each of the 4 stores. Then upload a photo on Instagram…ermm did that make sense? The 8 tasks were to find – a party dress, standout shoes, a perfect print, a cosy knit, a winter coat, the ‘it’ bag, a beautiful statement necklace & a must have item. The final check point was a bar for some Halloween drinks. My little Eva was doing her very first trick or treat, so I had to head home before.Read more
So a couple of weeks ago I did something quite different. Boots No 7 invited seven international bloggers to London. They were to partake in various unusual beauty related activities. Lovely Gem from Jam PR sent me an email and asked if I would like to come and join them for the final activity – Laughing therapy and Yoga. I am always up for trying something new so the answer was of course, yes!
Check out the details and photos below – also some weird and wonderful local beauty secrets at the end of the post. Read more
After an afternoon of laughing Yoga (more on that in a later post). I cheerfully made my way to the Wallis showroom on Oxford Street. Wallis are holding small group appointments over the coming months; so press and bloggers can talk to the W collection design team.
